Calow Tundra is not what one may first expect it to be upon hearing the name. It is an alpine tundra set above the tree line, yet still at a lower altitude than most of the northern Veroah Mountains. Dominated by drawf shrubs and tough, hard grasses, Calow Tundra is a land of broken, rugged slopes, rocky ledges; certainly a land more suited for sure-footed mountain goats. But occasionally one may find the land turns to a gentle rolling slope and flattens out briefly before once more rising into a rocky ledge. A generally mild climate during the summer months with temperatures ranging about 40-50 degrees, the other seasons are brutal. Snow and ice grip the land in fall and winter with temperatures dropping to the negatives. Spring leaves the ridges cold and wet, with snow melt turning the ground swampy and the rocks slippery.

Perhaps the most well-known mountain pass, Ou Pass winds the length of the Veroah Mountain Range. The center of Ou Pass itself is like a massive bridge, connecting the northern and southern halves of the Veroahs. This area is often called Ou’s Heart due to numerous other mountain paths converging here. This also makes Ou’s Heart easy to access. The Heart is full of fertile mountain grasses and a spring bubbles up at one end from an underground water vein. The Sulin River starts just below the Heart in a rocky pool, but remains inaccessible due to a sheer drop. One can lean over the edge to view a tunnel leading into the mountain, the same tunnel that feeds the spring here. This is also evidence that the Sulhin River starts on the other side of the mountain range or further within the mountain.

The highest point of the Veroah Mountain Range, Beyer Peak is responsible for the massive rain shadow that hovers over the Setur Wastelands. The peak is almost completely inaccessible, though there is a small, steep path on may take to reach the highest point of the land. Here one is met with howling winds and thin air, but the view is spectacular and the climb the ultimate thrill. Looking over the land and through the thin clouds, one can see the mountain range as it cradles the various lands to one side and then to the other the red sands and waving grass of the wastelands.
