 A dense forest named for the conifers that dominate it, Needle’s Edge is known for being the darkest part of Cresen Forest. The ground is covered in pine needles with thick bushes that prohibit most life forms larger than a deer from wandering too deep in the woods. It is much too easy to get lost within the darkness and thickets. The only safe way through the forests is to follow the Sulhin River. Needle’s Edge itself is a rather thin strip of land stretching almost in a perfect horizontal line east to west, so if one can find north or south, they can count on being out of the woods within two days. To the western portion of Needle’s Edge, a clearing simply called The Glade separates the coniferous forest and Safras Grove.

 The very edge of Arann Woods is marked by the Hollow Rapids, where the Sulhin River swells with snow melt in the spring, creating a rush of deadly water over rocky land to become a roaring monster. The trees here are spread out more; the air is warm and pleasurable. Arann Woods is perhaps the most mild and well lit forest out of the three. The trees still grow thick, bordering a jungle in some regions, but the low canopy and thin interlacing of branches allow sunlight to dapple the forest floor and allow soft tender grass to grow. It isn’t much, but the sweetness of the grass is well desired by many who travel here.

 A thick, humid, maritime forest. Due to the salt spray and sandy soil, only certain types of flora can grow, such as broad leaf evergreens. Dotted with White Ash, white poplar, and Silky Dogwood trees, sunlight hardly ever reaches the ground. However, even with those factors, the forest manages to be completely green. It is a good place for playing in though you have to be careful of getting lost. When high tide comes, the area turns to a sandy marsh where one might find themselves able to swim; at the cost of becoming quite dirty, though. The forest thins as it meets up with the coast, the trees turning to leafy palm trees and ferns, but be careful. Here great trees used to stand and as time went on, nature ripped them from the soft, sandy ground, leaving behind hidden holes. The sand makes them hard to find, easy to fall into, and ever more difficult to escape from.
